The inspection of an entire section or complete line regularly requires large amounts of material and personnel. The pressure with which the test must be carried out can also be a problem. The larger the diameter, the more difficult and dangerous it becomes.

In these kinds of situations, a collision tester can offer a solution. The approach tester is used to check the tightness of pipes and ducts per transition. This reduces the effort, as the pipe does not have to be filled with large amounts of water (or even more dangerous) air. The testing of each pipe connection also gives a quick indication of where a leak may be.
