Balloon plugs are cylindrical pipe plugs that can be inflated and are therefore suitable for sealing several diameters. When inflated, the shape changes from cylinder to round. Therefore these pipe plugs are often called balloon plugs or bellows. These plugs are available in various sizes: from 20 mm to 2000 mm and only suitable for round pipes.
Whether it is for air testing, water testing, temporary closing or pumping over, the inflatable cylindrical pipe plugs from Lansas are an effective and easy solution.

Balloon plugs are available in different types and sizes with varying filling pressures. Most balloon plugs are suitable for sealing round tubes. We can also deliver balloon plugs suitable for other tubes like egg-shaped tubes. Balloon plugs are even available for square or rectangular tubes. To select the right type of balloon plug, it is important to know which characteristics the piple plug should have. For instance, the back pressure behind the balloon plug can be important. Also the duration of the sewer seal plays a role in choosing the right type. Of course, working safely in sewers is the most important starting point when working with pipe plugs.
The filling pressure, the diameter of the pipe, and the smoothness of the pipe determine which water pressure the balloon plug can withstand. ATTENTION: If people have to work behind a balloon plug, this can cause life-threatening situations. In general, we advise against working behind a balloon plug.
